Lukas Hartmann, born in 1944 in Bern, studied German literature and psychology. He was a teacher and journalist. He now lives near Bern and writes books for both adults and children. His novels (most recently ›A Robber's Life‹) place him on the Swiss best-seller list again and again. In 2010 he was awarded with the ›Sir Walter Scott Literature Prize‹ for ›To the End of the Sea‹. Lukas Hartmann’s books are published in 13 languages.
