»Viktorija Tokarjewa’s characters are afraid of loneliness, yearn for love and happiness, and have a thirst for life.«Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

»Viktorija Tokarjewa’s stories are suffused with charm and warm humour, at arm’s length and closely involved at the same time.«Süddeutsche Zeitung

»Viktorija Tokarjewa's stories have always been full of charm – every one a minor miracle which instils the reader with a feeling of effortlessness. Her strong sense of humour – a talent she employes to the full – often brings a smile to the lips. It is humour founded not on satire but on gentle irony, with a dash of sadness and a generous helping of human compassion.«Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

»The Russian author Viktorija Tokarjewa's theme is love and only love. Disarmingly direct, she exposes the weaknesses and preferences of her often engagingly crazy love-sick characters, accompanied by sympathy and laconic irony.«Brigitte

»This is an author who knows how to observe, and knows how to convey her observations without a hint of tedious long-windedness.«Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung
