Night for night Hella tells Rosemarie about her life in order to while away the long hospital nights. Hella, a pharmacist by profession, suffers from an urge to rescue and mother people, which is responsible for her landing with the wrong men time and again - and in the most fantastic of situations: an inheritance which has certain drawbacks, drugs, dangerous dentures, a happy-go-lucky student and a child with several fathers are all involved.
