Of all places, it has to be at the idyllic holiday home by the lake that Erika, the attractive wife of engineer Wallmann, falls to her death. A tragic accident, the police say. An almost perfect murder, suspects Scholten, an employee of Wallmann who knows some ugly details about the Wallmanns’ marriage. Unaware that he is putting himself in considerable danger, he starts investigating the matter off his own bat.
