We know Tomi Ungerer as an internationally acclaimed author of children's books, as the creator of the ›Great German Songbook‹, as the scandal-ridden draughtsman of erotic drawings, and, with his autobiographical works such as ›Thoughts Are Free‹ and ›Once There Was My Father‹, Tomi Ungerer has recently been discovered as writer. One part of Tomi Ungerer's oeuvre, however, has been somewhat forgotten: his caricatures – and this despite the fact that Tomi Ungerer marked his début with satirical drawings in ›Simplicissimus‹ and became renowned/infamous as a political cartoonist in the mid-1950s. ›Expect the Unexpected‹ is a collection of the best drawings from one of the world's best draughtsmen.
