Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The Spiegel Bestseller List this week features six Diogenes titles – and we are happy to share the news with you:

Our two mystery queens take the lead –  Ingrid Noll’s Tally-ho is on #10, her latest novel's third week inside the top ten. Donna Leon #1 bestseller Earthly Remains follows on #22, after having been on the list for 15 weeks.

Two tried-and-true titles soon follow: The #1 bestseller Elephant by Martin Suter – this week on #37 and on the list for 33 consecutive weeks – as well as Benedict Wells’ On the End of Loneliness, this week on #47. His novel has been on the list for an incredible 79 weeks, among which 30 weeks were inside the top ten!

Moreover, we are especially happy that two new novels have just entered the Spiegel Bestseller List: Our top title this autumn, The Genius, the furious debut by Klaus Cäsar Zehrer enters on #50, and Petros Markaris’ latest title Offshore on #33.

We are also pleased by Petros Markaris' international success with Offshore, which reached the top ten of the Spanish and Italian bestseller lists (published by Tusquets and La nave di Teseo).

As far as recent sales are concerned, Pushkin Press just bought English world rights of János Székely's Temptation, a Hungarian classic novel set in the interwar years, with Dickensian compassion for its characters. As an emigration story, it is strikingly topical today.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact us for English sample material, PDFs or reading copies.

With best wishes,

Susanne Bauknecht
