Malte Herwig, born in Kassel in 1972, studied Literature, History and Politics and received his doctorate from Oxford University. He has written for the Süddeutsche Zeitung magazine, Spiegel and Stern and published several bestsellers. His most recent publication is The Great Kalanag, with Penguin.
