The Three Robbers
Tomi Ungerer's pictorial tale of an orphan named Tiffany who falls into the hands of three highwaymen has become a classic of children's literature. Since it first appeared in 1961, it has sold well over 500'000 copies in Germany and 2.5 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 21 languages. Based on the picture book, director Hayo Freitag (well-known for his successful screen adaptation of Capt'n Bluebear) has created an animated film that enchants children and adults alike. With Tomi Ungerer as the narrator, Katharina Thalbach as the ›peculiar old aunt‹ and Joachim Król, Bela B. Felsenheimer and Charly Hübner as the three robbers.
