Since the marriage of his former girlfriend Annabelle, the chemist David Kelsey has led a double existence. Unbeknown to his friends, he spends the weekends at a house rented in a false name. Here he develops his very own fantasy world, in which he imagines that he is living with Annabelle. One day, Annabelle's husband turns up at the house to confront Kelsey.
