Sasha Filipenko's The Hunt presented at the Cannes Film Festival
Sasha Filipenko’s novel The Hunt has been selected as one of this year’s pitch titles at the lively two-day ›Shoot the Book!‹ event taking place this week at the 77th ›Cannes Film Festival‹. In collaboration with Pro Helvetia, Diogenes and Sasha Filipenko travelled to and took part in Europe's most important film festival.
Each year ›Shoot the Book!‹ presents a curated selection of books ripe for screen adaptation. It is an initiative designed to showcase top literary works to an audience of international Film and TV producers. For film producers, ›Shoot the Book!‹ offers a unique opportunity to discover the latest and hottest IPs in literature and spark new collaborations.
Switzerland is this year’s guest country and the Swiss Arts Council ›Pro Helvetia‹ has handpicked four captivating literary works to present to filmmakers at the pitching sessions.
We are over the moon that Sasha Filipenko’s gripping political thriller The Hunt has been selected for this prestigious event. Uncomfortably close to the reality of our time, The Hunt is just screaming out to be a high-concept genre film or series.
