Sun and Moon

They were best friends starting their stage careers together — until things fell apart. Sonja, nicknamed Sun, was betrayed by Jana von Mond. Years later, Jana — now a comedy star — shows up at Sun’s funeral parlour and asks her to host the memorial service for her late partner. Old wounds reopen, new ones are inflicted. Sun and Moon are unable to break free from their orbit; they shine on, each in their own way, sometimes cold, sometimes warm.

Dance on Shards

Jesko is a freak, a young fashion designer who likes to wear skirts. He doesn’t conform to social norms and restraints - he has leukaemia, and doesn’t have long to live. Under a pretense, Jesko is lured to his family’s upper-class villa. His mother is being considered as a bone marrow donor, but Jesko refuses her help.
Because, long ago, this woman treated him and his brother terribly.

Cold Blood

The great new German novel by filmmaker Chris Kraus who proves himself a great narrator and finds images of biblical force.

An epos of two Baltic-German brothers in the maelstrom of the 20th century.

A novel that takes readers to the dark chambers arose from the rubble of the Nazi regime.

Cold Blood tells the story of an entire epoch: a drama of betrayal and self-delusion spanning the years 1905 to 1975 and taking us from Riga to Moscow, Berlin and Munich all the way to Tel Aviv.

The protagonists are Hubert, Konstantin and Ev Solm – two Baltic-German brothers and their Jewish adopted sister.

Their constant companion on their convoluted paths through life is a lie, disguised as a secret.

Two brothers from Riga climb the career ladder: first in Nazi Germany, then as spies for the young West Germany. Along with and between them is the Jewess Ev, the lover of both of them by turns. A passionate ménage à trois unfolds that takes the protagonists to terrifying moral and political depths.

The story of the Solms is also the story of twentieth-century Germany: the decline of an old world and the rise of a new one – under new auspices but with the same familiar protagonists.

Summer Women, Winter Women

This powerful artist novel and love story is an evocation and a swan song to a youth greedy for highs and fame on the eve of 9/11. Written with the irrepressible joy of storytelling that captivated readers of Cold Blood.

»I’m a winter woman, Jonas. I hope you don’t meet some damn summer woman.«
»I’m not going to meet any women. New York is a city completely devoid of women.«

A movie about sex. Raw and radical. In New York. That is the task Jonas has been given. But how is the film student, who is out of his depth, supposed to make a movie in the darkest corner of the Lower East Side, surrounded by stranded artists? When he meets Nele, a headstrong, dazzling summer woman, his eyes are opened for the true purpose of his trip: an encounter with his own horrific family history.
